AMJ Mississauga and Cell Phones for Soldiers

Thursday, February 28th, 2008

Heather Phair, AMJ Campbell Mississauga, presented the Cell Phones for Soldiers program to her church members last Sunday. A large AMJ Campbell wardrobe carton has been placed in the foyer of the church for the collection of the phones. Many of the students that attend the church suggested they would start collections at their local schools in the Norval/Georgetown area. Way to go Heather !

AMJ Sports Sponsorships

Thursday, February 21st, 2008

Watch for AMJ Campbell’s TV commercial which will run throughout the weekend on CBC during the Scotties Tournament of Hearts National Women’s Curling Championship playoffs right up to the final on Sunday afternoon. We have signage in prime location at the event and the Move of the Game is being performed at each draw. We are a sponsor of Team Quebec (picture attached) who have a very good chance at making the weekend’s playoffs. We have been highlighted throughout the week long broadcast on TSN as well. It is now prime time curling season and for all events now, including the Brier coming up in Winnipeg in mid March we will be a feature sponsor. Our local agents in these areas have been or will be on site all week long at these events interacting with the community. Curling TV viewership numbers are always near the top of any television broadcast and the intrinsic value back to all sponsors is fantastic. Enjoy the games!

LONDON, Ont. - Did you know an old cell phone can help our Canadian troops? AMJ Campbell and Mustang Athletics have partnered to collect cell phones for soldiers on Feb. 9 when the Western Mustangs host the Lakehead Thunderwolves in OUA men’s hockey action at the John Labatt Centre. The men’s game follows the women’s hockey contest between Western and Waterloo at 4 p.m., in what will likely be a battle for the final playoff spot in the OUA women’s league. Fans are asked to help support the Cell Phones for Soldiers campaign by bringing an old cell phone with them. The donated phones will be refurbished and the proceeds from the sales of the refurbished phones will go to help send their children to summer camps. “AMJ Campbell is proud to be involved in the Feb. 9 Challenge Cup game,” said Pierre Frappier, Owner and Partner with AMJ Campbell Van Lines. “Not only is this an opportunity to see a great hockey game but it also provides an opportunity for fans to support the families of our soldiers.” “By bringing one phone, we can make a difference to the families of our Canadian troops,” Frappier said. “We are also excited to be the title sponsor of a long-standing rivalry between two of the premiere OUA men’s hockey teams.” This is the first annual AMJ Campbell Challenge Cup. David Easter, manager of marketing and sponsorship for Mustang Athletics, said the opportunity to reach out to the London community is always worthwhile. “We’re very happy to facilitate this opportunity to allow the London community to give back to our hard-working troops and their families, while watching a first-class sports product at the JLC,” Easter said. “No matter how you look at it, it’s a win-win situation.” Tickets for the game are $10 for adults and $5 for youth, students and seniors. To order, call 1-866-4-JLC-TIX or visit www.johnlabattcentre.com. Some of the game-day activities planned include:

  • free T-shirt giveaways
  • fan of the game prizing
  • trophy and plaque to be awarded to the winning team on behalf of AMJ Campbell Van Lines
