AMJ Campbell Van Lines London is a proud supporter of the Western Mustangs and the Eastern Championship Mitchell Bowl on Sunday, November 16th at TD Waterhouse Stadium at 3:30 pm. This event will is co-presented by AMJ Campbell Van Lines as the Mustangs host the Saint Mary’s Huskies with the winner going to the Vanier Cup.

LONDON, Ont. - The Western Mustangs are pleased to announce that local corporate partner AMJ Campbell will be a co-presenting sponsor of the 2008 Mitchell Bowl.

The Mustangs and AMJ Campbell are also pleased to announce a five-year extension to their existing corporate partnership.

“We are very excited to move ahead with a five-year extension with AMJ Campbell. Their support and commitment to university sports is integral to enhancing the best student experience for the over 800 Mustangs student-athletes,” said Jeremy Renaud, Manager of Marketing, Sponsorship and Sales with the Western Mustangs.

Pierre Frappier and Ron Cook owners and partners with AMJ Campbell Van Lines in the Kitchener, London and Windsor corridor, say they are proud to continue their close relationship with the Mustangs family.

“AMJ Campbell London is proud to have extended its partnership with the Western Mustangs for next five years,” said Frappier.

Along with the naming rights as co-presenting sponsorship for the national semifinal Mitchell Bowl game, they will receive brand logo recognition, and prominence in a promotional display located at Concrete Beach during the week. The AMJ Campbell logo will also appear on the official Mitchell Bowl game shirt and all publications.

As always, AMJ Campbell will naturally sponsor the “AMJ Campbell Move of the Game.”

“We feel fortunate to be part of one of Canada’s premier University sports programs,” Frappier said. “The commitment being put forth by all involved to ensure that these student-athletes receive the most memorable experience is second to none.” “Also AMJ Campbell wishes to thank Jim Weese for his continued support as well as the football coaches Greg Marshall and Mickey Donovan and the entire coaching staff at Western,” Frappier said. “And we wish to offer a special thanks to Chuck Mathies and his team with sports and recreation services for making AMJ feel like part of the Mustang team.”

Saint Mary’s and the Western Mustangs play in the 2008 Mitchell Bowl presented by Mitsubishi Motors and AMJ Campbell on Sunday Nov. 16 at 3:30 p.m. at TD Waterhouse Stadium.

“The AMJ team is a strong, supportive, all-hands-on-deck organization which goes above and beyond their regular duties to roll up their sleeves and help out,” Renaud said. “The team at AMJ Campbell is part of the Mustangs family and we look forward to working with them to enhance both of our brands in the future to new and exciting levels.”

Anne Muller, principal of Kindree Public School, sisters Hanna (9) and Robyn (12) Bodanis, and Heather Phair, AMJ Campbell show some of the 205 cell phones collected by the students and staff at Kindree Public School in north-west Mississauga.

Robyn and Hannah heard Heather talking about the Cell Phones for Soldiers program and wanted to get involved. They asked their principal if they could bring the program to the school. Ms. Muller contacted Heather for more details and quickly gave permission. Heather, together with Robyn and Hannah made presentatons to all the Grade 1-5 classes. Heather dropped off some AMJ Campbell boxes and posters…then the students took over.

The Cell Phones for Soldiers program ran for 6 weeks at Kindree Public School. The program was featured in the monthly newsletter to parents. On the day of the program launch, there was a notice sent home to parents explaining the program. The students put up posters throughout the school. There were twice weekly announcements, with an ongoing phone count update. Robyn wrote an e-mail note to all the employees at her mother’s place of business. That resulted in a contact with a company in the midst of replacing all their sales force’s cell phones. That company sent all their used cell phones to Robyn for their collection. At the conclusion of the Cell Phones for Soldiers program at Kindree Public School, the Mississauga News came to take pictures of the girls for an article.

It was a great way for the students and staff to learn more about Canadian soldiers. And to understand more about the differences between their lives and the lives of the families of Canadian soldiers.

The pride in Robyn and Hannah’s parents just grew and grew! But….most importantly, Robyn and Hannah and their friends know that because of them, a little boy or girl will be able to see and hear their soldier mom or dad read a story each night before bed.

It’s amazing what a 9 year old and a 12 year old can do, and how a little bit of enthusiasm and effort can make a difference.
